The Kathmandu Valley will be locked for a week from 12 noon on Wednesday.

The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the District Security Committees of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur on Tuesday evening.

"It has been decided 24 hours in advance that people in different places will not be left behind. Information will be issued soon," a participant of the joint meeting told Nepalkhabar. The district administration has decided to shut down the hospital after the number of corona infections has been increasing rapidly in Kathmandu for the past few days.

The government had given all powers to the Chief District Officer to control corona infection at the district level or within the district. The district administration has decided to use the right to lock up.

The cabinet meeting held on Saturday handed over the authority to the District Covid-19 Management Committee (DCCMC). Yuvaraj Khatiwada informed.

Earlier, the government had said that the nationwide lumbering would be carried out for about four months. The cabinet meeting has given the responsibility to implement the same arrangement.
