In the last 24 hours, another 288 people have been confirmed to have corona infection, the ministry said on Tuesday. 

At a regular media briefing organized by the ministry, spokesperson Dr Vikas Devkota said that the number of infected people has reached 2,099. Among the infected are

  • 3 from Bardiya Gulariya
  • 1 from Saptari Ramgarh
  • 1 from Saptari Ramgarh
  • 17 from Banke Khajura
  • Narainapur and Rapti Sonari, 27 from Surkhet
  • 18 from Dailekh
  • 10 from Achham
  • 1 from Bara
  • 17 from Dang
  • 8 from Kanchanpur
  • 1 from Pyuthan
  • 6 from Dhanusha
  • 2 from Mahottari
  • 17 from Siraha
  • 21 from Sarlahi
  • 1 from Bhaktapur
  • 16 from Kapilvastu
  • 1 from Dhading
  • 1 from Nawalparasi East
  • 1 from Nawalparasi West
  • 2 from Nuwakot

Similarly, four health workers of Kathmandu Medical College have also been diagnosed with corona infection. The number of people in quarantine is 145,375. The number of people living in isolation is 1,825 across the country.

So far, eight people have died of corona infection in Sindhupalchowk, one in Banke, one in Gulmi, one in Bara, one in Lalitpur, one in Arghakhanchi, one in Dailekh and one in Bajura. According to the ministry, 116,345 samples have been tested using RDT method in Nepal till Tuesday. So far, 75,343 tests have been done using PCR method.

There are 45 more people to be discharged in 24 hours. A woman from Makwanpur has been discharged from Gulmi Hospital while undergoing treatment at the Teaching Hospital. Similarly, 16 people from Rupandehi and 9 people from Kapilvastu have been discharged from Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa. Similarly, 17 people from Jhapa and one from Sunsari have been discharged from Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Of those confirmed infected so far, 266 have recovered.
