Eighteen members of the same family have returned home from Narayani Hospital in Birgunj on Sunday night. Chief Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital, Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, said that he was discharged after the report of the swab test was negative twice.
Discharges range from a 4-month-old baby to a 62-year-old woman. There were 7 women and 11 men in the discharge. Uday Narayan Singh stated. He is a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City Ward No. 3. He was discharged around 11 pm on Sunday.
The family's swab was collected on April 21 after a 37-year-old man from the family was diagnosed with Covid 19 infection. The men were also representatives from the CPN (Maoist) in the relief distribution committee of Ward No. 3. On May 6, the man's mother, father, brother, brother-in-law, son, nephew and 17 members of his family were tested positive for corona. All the family members were kept in isolation at Narayani Hospital for treatment.
According to doctors, none of them showed symptoms of corona. On Saturday alone, nine Covid 19 patients from Parsa, Bara and Rautahat were discharged from the isolation ward of Narayani Hospital. Another 72 corona infected people are being treated in Birgunj including the isolation and temporary corona hospital of Narayani Hospital. An infected Parsa resident is undergoing treatment at Kalaiya in Bara.
