The Ministry of Health and Population said on Sunday that the number of corona cases had reached 69. On Sunday alone, 10 people were found to be infected with corona.

During a regular media briefing, Ministry spokesperson Dr Vikas Devkota said that corona infection was found in a 36-year-old man in Parsa district and five men and four women in a laboratory in Nepalgunj.

Devkota informed that the infected people of Nepalgunj are between 7 and 58 years of age. As of Sunday, 49,688 samples have been tested in Nepal by RDT method and 13,414 samples have been tested by PCR method. Similarly, in the update till Sunday, there are 78 people in isolation across the country.

In Kathmandu, 4 are in isolation and 73 are outside the Kathmandu Valley. There are 21,951 people in quarantine.


Nine infected people of Nepalgunj belong to the same community

In Nepalgunj sub-metropolis, nine people have been infected with corona on the same day. Of the 90 swabs collected on Saturday, 30 were tested and nine were found to be infected. All those infected are from the same community.

There are still 60 people to be tested. Corona was confirmed in a 60-year-old man on Friday. Those confirmed on Sunday ranged in age from 7 to 58 years old. The infected men are from Mahendra Park Tol of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-7.

Spokesperson of the District Public Health Office Banke and Corona Focal Person Naresh Shrestha said that the infection was transmitted from a 60-year-old person to another. The person who was confirmed as Corona on Friday is from Nepalgunj 5 DSP Road area. From there, he used to visit the religious place at Mahendra Park three or four times a day to offer prayers. According to locals, he has returned to Nepal from India.

After the corona infection was confirmed, he was sent to Bheri Hospital for examination after collecting swabs from six members of his family and 90 members from his work area. Chief of the District Public Health Office, Banke, Dhir Jung Shah said that the infected people were traced for swab collection. The local administration has completely sealed DSP Road, Dhamboji Chowk and Eklani area of ​​Nepalgunj.
